POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Traffic Coordinator for USTN is primarily responsible for managing the on-air radio and TV traffic sponsorship schedules utilizing the Media Information Tracking System (MITS). The position also coordinates with internal and external clients, coordinates with the Continuity Coordinator to manage copy for each order, provides appropriate reports and assists the Inventory Management Group as required.

REPORTS TO:  Traffic Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage on-air radio/TV traffic sponsorship schedules using MITS, including:
    – Input/verify all sales orders, revisions and cancellations
    – Schedule orders
    – Manage owned inventory to achieve effective utilization including bonus spots and “make goods” within a flight
    – Coordinate resolution of oversold markets with General Sales Manager(s)
    – Post log orders to allow the timely generation of invoices and affidavits in concert with Billing
    – Send weekly program logs to stations
  • Create close working relationships with internal staff (account managers, sales managers, billing, etc.) and external clients (station traffic managers)
  • Manage copy for each order in coordination with Continuity Coordinator
  • Provide reports from MITS
  • Develop a clear understanding of USTN sales and revenue processes regarding the financial impact on the company of the traffic coordination process
  • Other related duties, as required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates should possess exceptional organizational, time management, scheduling, problem-solving, reporting and computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Must be a team player as well as work independently, capable of handling multiple tasks with strict attention to detail, must be deadline-oriented, dependable, persistent, and customer focused.  Knowledge of trafficking software is a plus.  Candidates should have excellent customer service and communication skills to effectively relate to radio and TV stations, sales and account managers and internal departments such as Media Planning and Billing. A four-year college degree is preferred, but a high school diploma with applicable working experience is acceptable.

We are currently looking for Account Executives all over the country to sell our National Broadcast Sponsorships on radio and TV.

Summary:

The Sales Account Executive is responsible for the sale of customized packages of radio, television, and mobile solutions to advertisers and/or advertising agencies.  The account executive performs research on advertising categories and prospects; follows up on leads; makes cold calls; schedules appointments with prospects and agencies to pitch our products and services; prepares customized client presentations; compiles analyses of inventory packages to meet client needs for reach and frequency, targeted audiences and cost efficiency; utilizes/analyzes media research like Strata and Arbitron; helps create effective on-air copy; insures that the advertising buy runs as scheduled; and performs follow up work in coordination with the staff and the client as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Becomes familiar with all products and services
  • Performs research regarding applicable prospects and advertising categories
  • Develops client base through research, lead follow-up or cold calls
  • Presents capabilities to clients and agencies
  • Develops customized inventory packages to meet client advertising needs
  • Utilizes media research tools such as Strata and Arbitron
  • Coordinates with Senior Sales management
  • Coordinates with other account managers re: multi-market opportunities
  • Insures that client’s copy and advertising schedule run as contracted
  • Provides follow up contact with staff, client and agency as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Advertising Sales background – broadcast and/or interactive sales a plus
  • Track record of client-focused sales success
  • High degree of credibility, motivation and the ability to work with the team
  • Accountability for results and follow through
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills–both verbal and written
  • Capable of performing multiple tasks
  • Ability to  work independently and succeed without day to day management supervision

United States Traffic Network (USTN) is looking for Traffic Reporters to service our numerous client radio stations across the country. These positions will be based out of our main operations center in Malvern, PA.

It requires an upbeat delivery, knowledge of news worthy reporting and the ability to gather traffic information.

Principal Duties:
• Preparation of traffic reports.
• Assistance with traffic info gathering.
• Knowledge of local highways and traffic patterns.
• Other related duties as required.
• Communicate effectively with the assignment desk and colleagues.
• Major market radio reporting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in field station studio.
• Self-starter

Must be able to work well under pressure and be a team-player.

The United States Traffic Network growing nationwide and currently searching for Full and Part-time Traffic Editors to join our Traffic Gathering Operations team. This job will be based at our Malvern, PA offices.

The Traffic Editor is responsible for:

  • Communicating and servicing Radiate Media’s traffic clients and vendors including on-air talent.
  • Proactively gathering, editing and producing traffic incident updates which will be used by broadcast affiliates or posted to partner websites.
  • Monitoring police, fire and emergency services scanners.
  • Making telephone calls to public authorities regarding traffic and news incidents.
  • Accountable for interfacing with Radiate Media software applications.
  • Other related duties as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates for either position will thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, have computer literacy, be capable of handling multiple tasks under occasionally severe time constraints and be deadline driven.

Preferably, candidates will have had prior experience with a traffic information provider or broadcaster and may have done traffic or news producing, gathering or reporting as part of that experience. Strong internet search and map reading skills are a must. Local traffic market knowledge a plus. Only candidates with the availability to work early mornings, evenings and overnights Monday thru Sunday including holidays will be considered.

Location and hours are not ideal for mass transit riders. You must have reliable transportation.

The United States Traffic Network is currently searching for Part-time TV Traffic Producers to join our Traffic Gathering Operations team.

The TV Producer is assigned to a US Traffic Network affiliate TV Station and is responsible for working with the TV Traffic Reporter to create reports by rendering maps and graphics.

The Producer routinely works with US Traffic Network’s 2-D & 3-D mapping systems along with other proprietary software applications.

The TV Producer is responsible for:

  • Understanding local traffic conditions to create reports.
  • Rendering TV traffic maps and graphics.  Both 2-D & 3-D.
  • Working with TV Talent to integrate all elements (maps, graphics, cameras, etc.) during live reports.
  • Organizing and editing traffic information from multiple sources
  • Accountable for interfacing with Radiate Media software applications, such as IMS
  • Monitoring police, fire and emergency services resources
  • Other related duties as required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Successful candidates for the position of TV Producer will thrive in a dynamic team environment, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, have computer literacy, be capable of handling multiple tasks under occasionally severe time constraints and be deadline driven.  Candidates ideally will have had prior experience with a traffic information provider or broadcaster and may have done traffic or news producing or reporting as part of that experience.
